Report on health conference in Liverpool

In July Signing Solutions held an event at the Liner Hotel in Liverpool, which some members of Southport Deaf Centre went to.

The event was attended by health professionals and members of the D/deaf community from across the Cheshire and Merseyside region. The aim of the event was to provide an opportunity to discuss the barriers that both sides face and put forward suggestions to improve the experience for both patients and staff.

The feedback from this event has been collated into a report, which has been shared with the senior leadership team at the Cheshire & Merseyside Integrated Care Board.

90th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

Our 90th Anniversary Celebration Dinner was a great success last night.

This special event took place at the Old Links Golf Club in Southport and over 40 people came to join in the celebrations. The meal was delicious and professionally served by the Old Links staff.

Chairman Peter Mowat made a speech reflecting on how the Centre for the Deaf has progressed during its 90 years and he gave thanks to his Committee, especially to Tony Wright and to Dorothy Caven for organising this event.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported this event and to all who continue to support the Centre.
